Gail & Brett Sherwood's Mexico Coues

I was able to hunt with my Uncle Gail and cousin Brett this year. On the second day of hunting Brett and I found this buck from the first morning and snuck into 400yds and Brett took his great 109" buck.

On the 3rd morning we all headed to a spot that we've seen some good bucks in the past. As we glassed the far off mountains I kept coming back to a little spot only 200yds away. On my 3-4 time swinging my bino's through this spot there was this buck and a doe standing there. My Uncle Gail was a little ways a way and I had to get his attention really quickly. He got over there faster than I imagined he could move. He got set up on a tripod and took this buck.

I couldn't have been happier for my Uncle Gail. He's been down to the ranch with me 3 different times and this is his biggest buck. I hope I have the chance to hunt with him again and take a bigger buck. It's fun to watch him get excited to hunt coues at his age. Uncle Gails buck scored 112"

Broc Brimhall's Mexico Coues

This is Broc Brimhall's buck from Mexico this past season. Broc was holding out for a giant buck, But with a couple of bad days of weather and the deer not completely in the rut we struggled to find the giant. Broc's brother Brett and I had found this buck three day before and named him the "red" hill buck. Everyday he would be hanging out on the red hill. On the last day Broc, Brett and I went in and found the " RED HILL" buck and Broc ended up taking him at over 600 yds.

Mexico Double Javelina

On the first morning out glassing for coues we found a heard of javelina. Ryan and Broc decided they wanted to warm up their rifle barrels on these two. We took them back to the ranch and the cowboy and his wife made some chorizo out of them. It was a great way to get the hunt started.

An Untimely Death

Here is a ram that we found during our hunt this year. We spent time looking for him to decided if he was a ram we wanted to hunt. He came up missing and a few days later one of our guides, Chuck Hill glassed him up laying down. After watching him for a short while Chuck and a couple of the guys that were with him determined he was dead. They made their way over to him and called AZ Game and Fish. The wildlife manager checked the ram out and decided the ram had either fallen off a cliff or had been knocked off by another ram.

Here's a great buck that Brett Brimhall took with us on our Mexico trip this past season. This buck escaped a few shots for a couple of hunters but was finally brought down by Brett. Thanks Brett and Ryan for the fun trip this year.

Ryan Diquattro Mexico Coues

Here's a great Mexico coues we took this past year with Ryan Diquattro. After having some major rifle problems the day before. We snuck into one of my favorite spots and found this buck. After the first shot my heart sank when Ryan's rifle was off again. He compensated for the miss and made his second shot count. This buck has some of the same characteristics as our big 130" buck we took off the ranch a few year's prior. Congratulations Ryan on a great buck.
